Since Helping Hands of Haywood began in 2019, we have witnessed an increasing need for emergency shelter for families with children, individuals experiencing medical emergencies, individuals with serious mental illness, and individuals otherwise unable to access proper shelter when weather forecasts predict unsafe conditions. Through trauma-informed staffing and dedicated volunteers, while forming collaborations with local hotels, mental health agencies, housing agencies, hospitals, law enforcement, and other key agencies and organizations, we are able to effectively provide temporary emergency shelter in local hotels with wrap around case management and assertive linkage to essential care. We believe that a Housing First approach eliminates major obstacles that many people face when living life without a home. These obstacles stand in between a person and their ability to reach a stable home of their own. If you are seeking emergency shelter for yourself or someone else, please call us at 828-508-3420 or fill out this short form.
